BuildMo / International development

The supply chain ends at the border. The problem doesn't.

BuildMo has prototyped in more than 50 countries, on four continents. We build alongside partner nations and humanitarian teams, train local people to maintain and rebuild what we deliver, and source from local markets when shipping is not an option.

Intl 01 / Where we work

Places where the resupply chain is the hard part

Contested and denied areas. Resupply is unreliable, communications are monitored, and the origin of a piece of hardware matters. Designs adapt to what can be sourced and sustained locally.

Disaster and humanitarian response. Rapid-response engineering for degraded infrastructure: power, water, sanitation, logistics, and medical delivery, alongside partners including World Central Kitchen.

Austere and expeditionary basing. Containerized and vehicle-mounted labs that turn a patch of ground into a working fabrication shop. Fielded for USMC, USASOC, and allied partner forces.

Intl 02 / How we work there

Built in country, owned in country

On multiple engagements BuildMo has arrived in country with engineering talent and nothing else, then designed, sourced, and built a working system entirely from materials available in local markets. That removes the shipping timeline, the customs risk, and the attribution trail, and leaves behind a system the host nation can rebuild without an export licence.

Partner nations

Deployable labs for allied forces.

Australian 2nd Commandos wanted a mobile UxS development lab for drone building in austere environments. BuildMo built it with 3D printers, laser cutter, CNC mill, soldering stations, manual mill, and electronics test equipment, then taught them to run it.

Humanitarian response

Engineering where the infrastructure failed.

When infrastructure fails, the same rapid engineering that works in contested environments works in a disaster zone: power, water, sanitation, logistics, and medical delivery, alongside partners including World Central Kitchen.

Intl 03 / Capabilities

What we can stand up in country

01 / Prototype

Rapid prototyping & engineering

Design and build from what local markets can supply, with no shipping timeline and no export licence in the loop.

  • Local sourcing: built from materials available in country
  • Field-first design: repairable with what is actually on hand
  • Fast iteration: working hardware inside the deployment window
Full capability
02 / Integrate & field

Systems integration & global fielding

Containerized, trailer and vehicle labs that turn a patch of ground into a working fabrication shop.

  • Deployable labs: container, trailer, vehicle and static
  • Austere power: solar harvesting and off-grid conversion
  • Fielded on four continents: including contested and denied areas
Full capability
03 / Sustain

Operator training & sustainment

Train local people to operate, modify and rebuild the system, so the capability outlives the deployment.

  • Local ownership: rebuildable without an export licence
  • Operator training: use, modify and build, not just operate
  • No vendor lock: self-sufficiency is the deliverable
