Buildmo recently had the honor of welcoming General Chance Saltzman, Chief of Space Operations of the U.S. Space Force, for a visit to our Alexandria facilities as part of Partners in Air and Space's annual summit, which we were proud to host.
During his visit, General Saltzman toured Buildmo's labs and training spaces, where our team shared how we work alongside government, industry, and academic partners to rapidly translate ideas into usable capability. The discussion focused on how our approach to hands-on training, rapid prototyping, and low-cost experimentation directly supports the Space Force's mission and the unique challenges faced by Guardians operating in contested, technology-driven environments.
A key part of the conversation highlighted Buildmo's longstanding engagement with the Space Force and its predecessor organizations. This includes the creation of The Forge Lab at Patrick Space Force Base, built for Space Launch Delta 45, as well as our role leading the training of Guardians who took over lab operations. That work builds on years of collaboration with the Air Force before the Space Force was formally established and reflects our continued commitment to preparing teams to innovate at speed.
General Saltzman also learned more about Buildmo's current engineering efforts in the space domain, such as our cutting edge work in the development of instrumentation to enable laser-based communications in lunar orbit, illustrating how small teams and rapid iteration can contribute meaningfully to next-generation space architectures.
